[In the News] Political violence takes hold in Kenya


A public rally was held on Sunday night in Nairobi, Kenya protesting the newly proposed Kenyan constitution and its upcoming referendum. Violence arose when several grenades exploded in the public square, killing six and injuring over a hundred. The Kenyan government has launched a formal investigation into the incident, although accusations have been pointed towards the government as the individuals responsible for the tragedy. This outbreak of violence brings back memories of the post-election violence in 2007-2008, which the ICC is currently investigating. To read more click here. Photo credit: BBC News.
