The situation in Dafur, which was recently reported by the International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor to be the site of ongoing atrocities, has taken a violent turn today when three UN-African peacekeepers were killed in an ambush attack. The ICC is currently investigating and prosecuting three cases in the region in the hopes that successful procesution might deter future crimes from taking place, such as those that occurred today.
